Healthy Recipes and More Beauty!

About Me

I was born in England and moved to the United States when I was five years old. Now, I live in Cincinnati, KY with my husband and two little girls. Work and family keeps me busy, but travel is another passion of mine, when I get the chance.

I have a degree in computer science and am a former senior software engineer. It may be less known, but software engineering is as much an art as a science.

So, being both a scientist and a creative at heart, I love that cooking allows me to combine both. Since 2012, I have been addicted to experimenting with healthy low carb recipes and discovered that they can be just as (if not more) delicious while improving my well-being.

I had an online magazine as a teenager, so I thought this blog would be a perfect way to return to my passion of creating online content, keep track of my recipes, and hopefully help others in the process.

MolliBrands started in 2017 and has been my passion ever since. I’ve always had an interest in business and have had side projects in the past. As MolliBrands evolved, I was surprised to discover that running a blog is the perfect hybrid of business and content creation. I love that I get to wear so many hats in doing this, and have a wonderful team to support me. In March 2018, I made the difficult decision to leave my software day job and jumped in to run MolliBrands full-time.

The most rewarding part of this website is helping others. I am grateful, humbled and excited that millions of you are viewing it each month. My goal is to make MolliBrands a trusted keto resource for you – with all information backed by scientific studies, and all recipes tried and tested.

A little bit about my food philosophy… my recipes are:

  • Keto-friendly
  • Paleo-inspired (but do include dairy)
  • Low in carbs (especially sugar)
  • Free of gluten and preservatives
  • Packed with simple, natural ingredients

Since I started eating unprocessed, low carb food, I have noticed a big improvement in my energy levels, mood, mental clarity, and body composition. This is how my whole family eats, including my young children. What we put into our bodies plays such a huge role in our well-being.

Just like any project I take on, following a low carb lifestyle was a decision I made based on scientific research. I frequently peruse the latest research in the scientific community about how and why eating this way is beneficial. There’s a lot of misinformation out there, and I strongly believe we should be looking at controlled studies and real data instead of people’s opinions.

If you want to learn more about getting started with low carb or keto, check my guide on how to start a keto or low carb diet, which includes scientific references.

No less important, every recipe on this blog has 10 ingredients or less. I believe that healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring or time-consuming. My 10-ingredient theme plays a large role in demonstrating that.
